Phases — Undercurrent
Alfonso Elola
Phases, Undercurrent brings three manifestations of a single being into a quiet state of tension. Their intertwined forms seem caught between stillness and movement, each expression revealing only a fragment of what lies beneath. One face rests in silence, another emerges with a sharper presence, while the surrounding forms seem to pull them deeper into one another. Anatomical studies dissolve into petals, flowers, and branching organic forms, creating a space where flesh and nature become indistinguishable. Rather than depicting a single emotion, the piece explores the shifting boundaries between what is visible and what quietly persists underneath.
